Right now, as I write this, I'm working 12-hour shifts in pharmaceutical manufacturing. I make medicine that helps people work that matters. But here's the thing: even when I finish my tasks early, I can't leave. I have to stay the full 12 hours because "that's the policy."

I love the collaboration. I love the feeling of creating something meaningful. But I hate the rigidity. The lack of trust. The idea that my value is measured in hours at a desk, not the impact I create or the results I deliver.
